Shepherd Heart Ministry Consulting offers individualized ministry consultation for clergy, congregations and denominations. Melissa Hofstetter, PhD, MDiv, is an ordained minister in the Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church USA and holds a doctorate in psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary. She provides ministry consultation and clergy education on healthy boundaries, clergy self-care, ethics of pastoral care and counseling, systems issues and mental health. Consultation is educational and voluntary, and participants decide how to use the information they receive.

Sessions take place by phone or email message. Shepherd Heart serves the Pasadena area and Los Angeles area churches. Dr. Hofstetter has served as a district elder, as a seminary and university professor, and teaches on pastoral counseling, congregational health and related topics. The practice asks that callers leave a voice message with a callback number and avoid sharing identifying details about parishioners.
