For you rock hounds Avatar is a Baby site. Meaning it's a new mine. The owners are fantastic and very helpful. I have 5 grandkids and all had a great time digging for Crystal's we found some very nice specimens. If your looking for a great day of digging then this is the place for you

We showed up very excited to go dig here. We arrived at the locked gates at 0750 which was fine we figured no big deal… 815 rolls on by and this woman comes out of the car and comes over to the passenger side and starts screaming at us that they are the owners and “that we need to move immediately, to get the hell out of the way!!! We are the owners how the hell are we supposed to open up if you are in the way! I know I’m snapping at you I’m quitting smoking.” My husband asked where exactly she would like us to move as nothing was marked in terms of parking. She was beyond rude and unprofessional, they were late to open up and if you don’t want people driving up to the gate then put up a chain at the entrance. My husband and I decided that we would rather go down the road to the other mine that had better reviews and give them our business after the the poor treatment we received. Everyone on our trip that day was warned about the poor treatment we received and as word of mouth is important, think next time before biting someone’s head off.

If you are looking for a great place to dig crystals look no further. We have been to all the mines in Arkansas and this one is our favorite. You will find a ton of crystals, and Joe, and Bee, are the best.
