Wow, I cannot say enough great things about SOTO. I just got back from our church's family camp with my wife and two kiddos (1 and 3). BEST VACATION EVER! Gods scenery is breathtaking and the staff works their tails off to ensure you are safe and have a blast. The activities, cabins, and food are all great. I was able to build my relationship with Christ and enjoy my family without having to worry about a tent, food, or anything else. Just unplug and take it all in.

This is an incredible location for a retreat, get away with your family or team, or a church staff retreat. There is very very little to no cell reception here, which at times… Can be refreshing. The food is high-quality, the cabins and lodge areas are clean and spacious. Beautiful location and a very helpful staff.

We came here on a marriage retreat and had a blast. Aside from the absolutely beautiful landscape and creek, the cabins are huge, the food is excellent, and it's run by some amazing people.
We only spent one full day here, but it was unbelievable. Cell signal was lacking but they had WiFi at the main building. This lead to deeper conversations while still being able to check in on the kids and important news.
They have a guided hike that ends with rock climbing up to a cave. And the lookout from that cave is beautiful. And the guide helps to eliminate as much danger as possible even for those of us who are out of shape from not hiking a yard in the last 6 months....
I said the food is good, but it's hard to overstate that. It's made in bulk but tastes like it was home made with all the love and attention that entails. We had pasta, tacos, eggs/biscuits/gravy and each time a dessert.
For down time there are 9-square setups (my daughter assures me this is a volleyball training game), a volleyball net, trails, decks with amazing views, a beautiful creek, and even disc golf.
For events such as our marriage retreat sessions, they have outdoor and indoor spaces. One space is an auditorium, another is a fire pit. That said, we held one session in a cabin's living room and it fit 30+ people fairly well.
The cabins are awesome and quite honestly exactly what I would want to own if I had a vacation home in the hills. Private bedrooms/bathrooms, and a tone of bunk beds. And there are extra beds carefully hidden away in various places. The heat worked.fine, but one of our cabins still setup the fireplace one morning.
My final memory was getting up in mid-October and seeing fog roll off the hills from the deck of our cabin. It's like a picture from an inspirational poster.
I hope we get the chance to go back!
